By downloading, purchasing or using Verdant City (the “App”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not purchase or use the App.
Apple's applicable App Store and media-services terms also apply to your purchase and use of the App.
About Verdant City
Verdant City is an offline, single-player city-building game for iPhone and iPad. It includes optional educational estimates related to CO₂ awareness. These estimates are simplified game mechanics and are not professional, scientific, financial or public-policy advice.
No Verdant City account is required. Device compatibility and operating-system requirements are shown on the App Store product page.
One-time purchase
Verdant City is offered as a one-time purchase through the Apple App Store. It is not a subscription, does not automatically renew and does not charge a recurring fee.
- The App Store displays the price, currency and any applicable taxes before you confirm the purchase.
- Apple processes the payment using the payment method connected to your Apple Account. We do not directly process or store your payment-card details.
- Refund requests are handled by Apple and are subject to Apple's refund rules and applicable consumer law.
- A purchase gives you a license to use the App; it does not transfer ownership of the App or its content to you.
License and permitted use
Subject to these terms and the applicable Apple terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to install and use Verdant City on compatible Apple devices that you own or control.
You must not:
- use the App for an unlawful purpose;
- copy, sell, rent, sublicense, distribute or commercially exploit the App except where the law expressly permits it;
- reverse engineer, decompile, modify or create derivative works from the App except where that restriction is prohibited by law; or
- interfere with the App's operation, security or integrity.
Local saves and backups
Cities and settings are stored locally on your device. Verdant City does not provide an account-based cloud library or automatic cloud synchronization. You are responsible for exporting and keeping backups that you want to retain.
Deleting the App, losing a device or moving to another device without an exported backup may permanently remove your saved cities. Re-downloading the App does not restore local game data.
Intellectual property
The App and its software, artwork, text, graphics, sounds, trademarks and other content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. No rights are granted except for the limited license expressly described in these terms.
Updates and availability
We may maintain, update, change or discontinue features of the App. We do not promise that every feature or future update will remain available indefinitely or work with every device or operating-system version.
Previous purchases may be available for re-download through Apple, subject to the App remaining on the App Store, your use of the purchasing Apple Account, device compatibility and Apple's rules. We do not control App Store availability.
Privacy
Your use of Verdant City is also governed by the privacy policy published for the App. Read the Privacy Policy.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties beyond those that cannot legally be excluded.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits or business arising from your use of or inability to use the App. Nothing in these terms limits rights or remedies that cannot be limited under applicable consumer law.
Changes and termination
We may update these terms when the App, applicable law or our practices change. The updated date at the top of this page shows when the latest version took effect. If a change is material, we will provide notice where reasonably required.
Your license to use the App ends if you materially violate these terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including ownership, disclaimers and liability limitations, will continue to apply.
Applicable law
These terms are governed by the laws that apply to the provider of the App, without excluding any mandatory consumer protections available to you under the laws of your country of residence.
